Social Media Etiquette

This is about Donald Trumps Tweets that are usually idiotic or rude to someone or a specific race. I do not have a personal opinion on him as a president so do not hate me for posting this. I truly do not care who is president.

We have come to an end... Together

This class was really interesting, now, online classes for me are very hard but this class seemed like a very helpful class. I had no expectations going into this class and what I ended up receiving was many tools to help me in life. Ways to connect with others online, ways to create and tell a story, ways for us to engage with each other as a community. The only downside, which is not really a downside is that we used LinkedIn. To me, LinkedIn is just not a good site at all but it still gets used by many companies to find people looking for jobs that also have the requirements. I personally want something that is a little easier to use and I'm also old fashioned and always just walk in asking if they are hiring. In the end, this class was really cool and do not think anything needs to be changed. Thank you for having me as a student.

Social Media Tools

Get Twitter - Microsoft Store en-GBI am not a huge social media user and I actually do not really like a lot of them. However, there are three that I have not used that I do find useful more and more as I live. The first one is twitter with being a very easy way to keep up to date on things and communicate with your own community that you may or may not have already created. For example, I have started streaming and this is a useful way for me to let people know whats going on.
Facebook - Apps on Google PlayAnother social media tool would be Facebook. I have a Facebook account but I do not ever use it. I only wanted one when I was little because I saw my sister playing games on Facebook and wanted to do the same. Now, my mom and sisters both find many things on Facebook to help keep us safe and there even is a Facebook page for my neighborhood.
Official LinkedIn BlogLastly, I would say linkedIn. It is another site I do not use but has been forced to make but I know that many companies and even my dad get a lot of good use out of it. It is just something I feel will be needed later in life, then again, our generation will probably create something better and newer just because that's how we are.

Additional 2 stories

there was a girl I saw when I was in middle school where I actually had a love at first site moment and wanted to date her or at least just ask her out. Even if she was to say no I would of been happy that I at least tried.
In This story me and my friends all play games together and we always come across people that think they can beat us, we end up just decimating them in the game.

story time x 3

With this first story I ended up asking my friend if he wanted to hang out in the morning and he only saw the text at the same time but at night and he thought I was still trying to plan things.
There is not much needed to say about this story, I always end up finding creepy crawlies at the worst times.
With this quarantine, I spend all day sitting at my computer doing nothing basically.

Chapter 4 Summary + Relation to future career

Chapter four's title is "Building a Collaborative Culture" and in this chapter, it talks about trust and building relationships. While reading I kept thinking of teachers as the topic and helped me understand it as I was going through it. It starts off saying that you should put relationships first and as I stated I put teachers as the topic and when I thought about it if you have a class where the teacher does not just read off slides but actually tries to engage students and make it fun, majority of students will end up doing better because of the better relationship they have with the teacher compared to a teacher that just reads slides and hands out worksheets. Next, the chapter talks about is trust. Continuing with the trend of teachers, if they can build trust between students there will be more who ask for help, more who open up about their problems and overall can have the teacher do as much as they can to help. Most teachers will want their students to succeed, many do it just so they don't get fired. Students can really feel when the teacher cares and is trying to be a good teacher. My best class I ever had was a teacher that was both building great relationships with the whole class and a very trustworthy teacher.
Now, if I was to relate this to my future career of being an Orthodontist I would definitely try to do both of these. I want to build a great relationship with my patients and even my co-workers. Having a good relationship will lead to your name being spread around and having a happier patient. I have had Doctors that I did not like and they clearly did not try to build a better relationship and therefore we stopped going to them and their name was spread about negatively. Also. building trust with your patients and co-workers. If you have someone's trust they will speak up more and feel more comfortable around you. Trust and relationship to me coincide with one another since if you build a good relationship you begin to gain their trust and vice versa.

Chapter 5 Summary and Relation to my future career!

Chapter five talks about the tools you can use online to either organize web-pages you have been too and like to use. This would be known as bookmarking or tagging. With web-pages to help like www.delicious.com which does not seem to be a web-page for this anymore would allow you to
"bookmark and tagging websites" (The Connected Educator pg 75). It also explains tools for connecting and collaborating with others. Some of the more popular sites that are mentioned are Twitter, google docs, and wikis which we all use a lot for research but all teachers despise. It also mentions Podcast which in today's day and age we use Spotify for this or Youtube.

Also, if I was to relate this to my future career it would be to connect with my patients. I would use things like twitter specifically for business and I also think it would be neat to have a podcast where I can talk about patients' problems, with or without their name depending on if I get permission, about what their problem was and the cause of it. I would then go into how to either help fix the problem or make sure the problem does not happen to you. My Orthodontist uses his phone to play Spotify music for background sound and to relax his patients. Make them feel at home and I would probably do the same thing. Also, because it helps me focus and stay relaxed. Would it be weird to contact your Orthodontist through twitter to make appointments or ask questions? Let me know in the comments!

Chapter 6 Summary into my career

Chapter six talks about how to get connected with your community via the internet. It goes in-depth with how to make yourself well known which was by making a "consistent username across all networks"(pg 93). It also wants you to choose someone as a mentor to help.  It also wants you to choose specifically who to follow and get in touch with people who have similar interests. In the end, it just wants you to engage with the community as much as possible. Make yourself known.

If I was to correlate this to my future career I would follow after my Orthodontist. He has made himself known by being on billboards and speaking on the radio. However, this only works in your local area but it still makes him known by the community. which I will eventually do because I want to be the best Orthodontist. I would most likely create my own webpage instead of using social media because it needs to be professional. I would also make sure that where ever it is that I am working I would pass out business cards to people just as another way to spread the name. Currently, I have been asked about social media and said that I will create one for business use and that is something that I would do if need be.

Chapter 2 summary but in my career

A lot of what I got out of chapter two is how we need to stay connected and also stay updated on everything about our career. I want to be an Orthodontist and I was just recently talking to people about how they constantly read up on the latest information about Dentistry. They constantly have to practice their techniques and also try and connect with the patients that come in. When I say "connect" I am talking more about just little talk about what's wrong, what do you do, where did you go, etc. You want to have that small connection so people not only feel comfortable with you, but recommend you to others, and come back as a patient. You want to spread your name out there and be recognized. My Orthodontist now is all over billboards and on the radio, he is spreading his name and connecting with many people. That is a big part of being successful.
